I have started to scrolling less than a year ago and would like to show you my recycled scroll saw.
1. I bought my Craftsman saw at a local garage sale for $45.00 it was made in 1998/99 I think made in USA
it was like brand new.
2. I mounted it on 3.5 inch block of wood covered with 1/8 inch thick spongy wet suit material,
then installed in the block a vacuum connector.
3. I then placed the block on a recycled stainless steel Hospital cart that the wheels were worn out, and
replaced them with only 3 new casters.(making it more stable)
4. The air hose was brittle and busted so I added a aquarium pump and flex connector.
5. I also added a flexible light with a on a piece of aluminum angle.
6. Then installed in the block a vacuum connector.
7. Then to top it all off I made 2 drawers and side panels.
Everything except the v-pump & flex lite are all recycled parts.
7.

looks great to me--I'm all for recycling stuff--It's unbelieveable what can be done with somebody else's junk--thanks for sharing--Richard

Good job on the recycle. It will serve you well until you decide you want a better saw. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Very Ingenious if I must say. Even Brilliant with what you have accomplished.
Well you have a reputation in my books as a Great Designer, so now I look
forward to seeing your finished craft off the Craftsman Scroll Saw. Danny :+}

Recycling is the best way to go sometimes and you did a great job using stuff that somebody else thought was junk. Looks really nice so lets start sawing and making some dust. LOL ;D ;D
Nice job Bob.

Honestly , i started my scrolling with a 10 dollar used flea market Dremel saw 30+ years ago,
making animal kitchen magnets -that saw of yours looks miles better than
my first saw -One of my all time favorite saws is a combination of 3 worn out 15" Taiwan machines -
I call Frankenstien -- i keep it around for good luck !
