Hi,
I got my saw a little over 3 years ago and have used it quite regularly since then. It has a vibration in it now and I was wondering where it might be coming from. I'm wondering where I should start to find where it's coming from? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Does it vibrate at all speeds or just at very high speed?

All speeds, worse at higher speeds.

You might check out this website. Under "Reviews" there is info on tune up and repairs of the DeWalt. You could also call or email this guy with questions.

Thanks, I'll look it up.

I found where the vibration is coming from. It's in the bearing on the crank arm, where it connects to the pivot arm. Any ideas on how to remove it? The nut on the end of the motor shaft doesn't seem to want to come off easily. The housing is in the way, so the bolt through the bearing won't come out until the crank is off the motor.

If I remember correctly the nut on the motor is a LEFT handed thread. It tightens and loosens backwards from how you are used to it. If you are wary of that then perhaps taking it to an authorized service center for the dewalt - http://www.dewalt.com/Find-Service-Center.aspx (http://www.dewalt.com/Find-Service-Center.aspx) They have a guarenteed repair cost program that is pretty good, especially if you have something major bad with the saw.

Here are some good videos on DeWalt 788 Scroll Saw Service by the Gwinnett Woodworkers. This is Part 1 of a (4) four part series. 8)
