Title: Font issue

I can do so much more ever since I came to this website! Thank u all.
 I have taken the advice of everyone....
I downloaded Inkscape.... learned how to create and edit text... then I went to Fontspace to find a font that wasn't listed on Inkscape's fonts.... I finally found the font that I want.. NOW>>>... How do I get the new font to Inkscape?   :-\  phewwww I am exhausted. ( I did download the font to a file on my computer ). What is the next step?

go to the file on the computer, double click on the font name  eg xxx.ttf, that should open a new box showing the font style, top left of the box click install font and it will now show up in all programs
