Here are Steve Good's tea candle patterns I've done over the past week.
The single tea candle holder is maple and teak.
The triple tea candle holder is maple and Brazilian Cherry.
If you decide to make the tea candle holders and decide to use LED candles you will have to bore a larger hole than the 1 1/2" size Steve suggests. After putting them together I had to ream the holes larger with a Dremel.
The triple tea candle holder has stopped holes in it using a 1 1/2" Forstner bit and the single tea candle holder has through holes with a 1/4" round piece of maple on the bottom. (per the design) Neither one has a pass through hole to allow easier removal of the candle.
The single tea candle holder has polyurethane (one coat). The triple tea candle holder has no finish.

Karl,
I love the choice of woods. The contrasting colors compliment each other. Also, your precise cutting is an added plus in fitting your pieces together. I think anyone would be pleased to be the recipient of such a quality project.
