Title: Finally Legal

I started work on my Private Pilot license in 2003. There were lots of excuses, but I had a bunch of starts, stops, plane changes, etc. I worked with 3 other guys and built a plane in the meantime. Yesterday I finally finished my Check Ride and got my Private Pilot License. Thanks to my beautiful bride for 11 years of patience and turning a blind eye to an expense that must seem hard to justify if you don't have the bug.

That is a beautiful little craft!  My brother-in-law has always wanted to build a plane.  I've offered all my help and even offered to let him build it in my garage.  But it is one of those dreams that doesn't look like will ever happen.  He is also into drag racing and him and his son spend all their time and money on on their car.  It is paying off, after many years they are starting to win!

Congratulations Ray.  If you ever need a mechanic I hold an A&P license :)  Looks like it would be fun to fly.  Thanks for showing us that beautiful plane.

Very cool Ray!!! I like the plane. I always wanted to fly, but was too into boats to go through the schooling. Now i'm in a wheelchair so it's not in my future

Way to go!!  I also had a Private License for a number of years, but that was a few centuries ago.

Do you know what the propeller is for?

To keep the pilot cool.  If you don't believe that, watch the pilot sweat when it stops turning.

Good on you Ray Congratulations!
Needless to say I'm jealous, I too always wanted to fly and took lessons while in the Navy
but ended up in Gitmo so no more lessons.
Ever after never had the funds to pursue it.  :'(
Pray for many days and flights that are CAVU
