Title: Brass Cutting
Post by: Merlin on May 13, 2014, 06:58:53 am
Hi guys/gals just had a couple days R/R in the country and stayed at a wonderful cottage.
The upside the owners run a lifestyle block and the husband does woodwork/turning and also makes clocks.
Not the wooden kind. And when he found out I do scroll work was interested in a scroll saw for cutting the brass for the gears.
They wood probably be about a 1/16 inch thick Brass (that's clock brass) which I understand to be harder than ordinary brass.
Wood FD metal blades or jewellery blades  be ok for this type of work.
That is if any one can help me out on this please.

Thanks: ***Merlin***

Merlin,

I would use jewelers blades.  They are designed to cut metal.  Go to http://www.mikesworkshop.com/ (http://www.mikesworkshop.com/) Mike has the blades you would need.
