Title: Steve's patterns
Post by: bhenr99 on February 22, 2014, 09:15:28 am
When I download them to copy the print is real black, but the the patterns are a real - real light gray. Anyone having same problem?

Don't have the problem your referring to.  Most of Steve's patterns show the outline in a GRAY tone, but when I print them they come out with a darker line.  Danny  :+}

That's the way they're supposed to be.  It is easier to cut when there is a black line instead of a large blob of black.  It also uses a lot less ink to print.  Using gray as the fill color makes it easier to keep track of what is part of the project and what is waste.

My patterns are so light it is hard to make them out to cut.

If the patterns are showing up on the screen correctly, it probably is a printer problem. Ink cartridge low on ink or toner, or print head needs cleaning. Try printing a document and see if you get the same results.
It may help if we knew what type of printer you are using.

The color print of first page comes out great and any black wording is good. It just is the pattern itself that is so light. I have a Canon mx892 all in one printer.

I did a little looking and found that your printer uses 2 black ink cartridges. One is used to mix with the color cartridges to create black when printing in color. The other is a pigment based cartridge that is used only to print black/greyscale images and documents. (I used to have a Canon printer that used the same thing.)
Try printing just a page with a greyscale image and set your printing preferences/properties to greyscale and see if that makes a difference. Make sure your not printing in draft mode.
If these things make no difference, I am at a loss to what is happening.
