Title: Delta 40-690 Air hose problem/ question
Post by: Lorace on November 27, 2013, 07:49:29 pm
Hi
I have a Delta 40-690,  when I bought it I found the air hose was broken and would not stay in place.  I called WoodCraft where I bought it,  and they had Delta send me a new one.   and I can not get it on.   I have tried and tried.  so I just ducktaped the old one in place.   Well for the New Year's I want right!  Has anyone had the same problem.  what do you use?  or how can I get it on?   I have tried soaking in hot water for 15 min.  did not help.
Just wondering if anyone had this problem to,  and what you did.
Thanks
Lorace

I have the same saw (love it). Mine is secure and aok. I am thinking you are trying to push the hose over a ball? Do you have a heat gun or hair dryer....this may soften the socket enough to force the ball into place. I have used my heat gun to soften pvc piping for better fit on my shop vac hoses to tools, works great...REMEMBER the heated piece will be HOT!!!!

I have a little $10 fish tank pump and tubing that i taped to the tube on my saw.  I shoved the end of a ball point pen into the end of the tubing to make it pointier.

Works great for slow work when the bellows just dont enough air.
