Title: Cake stand
Post by: Martin on November 24, 2013, 12:57:56 pm
I made it simply because it looked an interesting project. You can't tell but the base doesn't fit properly. I think it is because the template prints out too small, but some sanding of the uprights will hopefully make it fit better.

There's nothing on the pattern to say whose creation it is so I don't want to post it in the forum, but if anyone wants a copy, PM me with your email.

Russ, if you look at the leg at the 9 o'clock position, you can see it isn't located in the base, that's the problem all round. Where the legs curve in to the middle, you can see they are touching. I tapered the inside of each leg so the legs would pull in a bit more and that allowed the feet to locate properly and be glued into place.

I have been informed it is a John Nelson pattern and is a plant stand, not a cake stand, so get all those cakes eaten and put a cactus on it. :D
