After watching Steve's video on installing fonts I went in search of some.
I found this web site with tons of true type windows fonts. No strings attached. Check it out. Of course you may have a better site.
Here's the link. Enjoy

Hallo GrayBeard, how are you going to do the fonts on Steve's key chains?

David,
That was my first thought when I read GB's post too. How is he going to incorporate a different font into them. Unless he know show to size the fonts to fit, and just makes the words and overlays them onto the shape of the keychain.

That's what I thought too Dunk. Maybe Gray will surprise us with one of his brainwaves.

Thanks Elvin, they will be handy

OK folks...I have tried making the oval key chains using several different fonts with some success simply by doing exactly as you stated.
I use "PageMaker" v. 6.5 and make my outline shape, oval, square, rectangle, and I've even tried a freeform curve.
Then I set the type outside the shape, size it to fit and then move it into the outline.
Just yesterday I had to make a 'masculine' model so I simply took a rectangle with slightly rounded corners and placed large 'block' letters inside. Fortunately the name was "TIM" so I had no closed loops to worry about. Cut out of 1/2" oak and stained a 'dark walnut' to match the interior of his car.
It was a birthday gift and he received it this evening and the lady I did it for said he was very happy and appreciative.
So, no mystery, just 'do it yourself' design! I would guess you all could do the same using InkScape, Gimp, or any other design/layout software.

No pic Greybeard?

Sorry Janet...
computer generated, cut, stained, lacquered, wrapped and given so fast I didn't even get a chance to get the camera out of the bag!
I'm going to make another one today for my son so I will get a pic of that one. I have to do something for him since he is bringing me some 'spalted maple' from his farm in WI.

NOW let me talk about the website mentioned!
Big E ... that was a Gift from Heaven!
Last November I had a total computer wipe out!
Like a good boy I had all my 'data' backed up and all the necessary disks for my OS and programs. The one thing I did not have a backup for were the 700 or so FONTS that I have collected over the past 15 years!!! (shame on ME!)
So when I built my new computer I started from scratch with the basic font set and have been slowly adding here and there little by little.
That website is a virtual 'treasure island' of fonts and symbols!
I spent the wee hours of this morning going bleary eyed downloading fonts and only made it through the 'J's!!!
Of course after they were all installed this morning I copied my "Fonts" folder in its entirety to my back-up external HD and to a disk!
Thank You for passing that info along!!!!

You're welcome. I needed glasses after I spent time on that site too.
I have since went back a few times to shop for unique fonts.
