Title: Selling at Craft Show's (new to this)
Post by: ukandu on November 06, 2013, 03:11:07 pm
I recently purchased plans for a project that was fun to build and I thought it would be a good seller at a craft show, (Rubber band gun) but it had "for personal use only" stamped on the pattern.  If I made a few modification's would this be legal to sell, how do others deal this...

Trying to move from the garage to the market place...

Thanks

I feel the "for personal use only" means you cannot resale the pattern. I sale a lot of items at craft shows that I made from purchased patterns. But, you should not try to sale someone's pattern. This has been done in the past and simply should be against the copyright laws.

Tony is correct personal use refers to the rights of the pattern.  If in doubt contact the pattern designer and ask permission.
