Title: Steve's 2013 Custom Christmas Ornaments
Post by: no1texan on October 29, 2013, 11:59:40 pm
I have purchased Steve's Custom Christmas Ornaments and go my first 3 names.
I plan to start off giving them to family but want to try to sell some. Has anyone tried sales and would you mind sharing how you have done?

I sell a lot of ornaments, but, I am not sure which ones you are asking about. I get $4.00 each or 3 for $10.00 and I stack cut 4 at a time.

Thanks for sharing what you do with ornaments. The ones I am talking about is where you send Steve names and he returns the pattern back to you with the name in the pattern. I think it is a neat idea but sort of puts a plug in stack cutting since the name will be different for each ornament.

What kind of wood do you usually use? I cut only with hardwoods but have to be careful with fretwork that the wood is not easily broken such as cypress. Beautiful wood but if too thin it will break easily. Walnut, Maple, Redwood, Mahogany and Cherry. I like Honey Locust and Black Cherry especially.

This years pattern lends it self to stack cutting.

I was using 1/4 inch Baltic birch and stack 3 together and drilled and cut everything except the name.

I then split apart and drilled and cut the name.

For the bottom 2 I pasted on the name in the right place and then cut them.  It saved a little time.
