Hi Steve, I'm Kyle from the UK. I'm totally new to this but wanting to take it up as a hobby. I'm sure you have been asked about saw choice lots of times. Are axminster equally as good to hegner? I want to buy a good quality saw. I have used a hegner before and know how good a saw they are but have the view they are over priced. Can you help me?

if by Axminster you are refering to there own model the answer is they are not even close to the same l
quality as the Hegner and yes I agree that they are over priced, you are simply paying for the name.
However Axminster do sell and srock the excalibur EX-21 for about ?579.00
and I,m sure there will be plenty of members that will vouch for the quality

Thanks Dave, I was originally looking at the AWFS18, the clone of the hegner but have moved my interest to the Excalibur EX21. I was worried about the quality though compared to the hegner, though now you have pushed me towards the Excalibur EX21

The EX-21 is a top quality saw. I've never used a Hegner but I would recommend the Excaliber any day.
