Just curious how often do you lube the moving parts of your saws
I was noticing a funny squeek in my saw and decided to check the connecting rod pins and found them dry and decided to check the rocker bearings as well. They all needed and received good bearing grease applied by hand.
I noticed there is a little grease hole on top of each Rocker bearing but don't know how you would go about pumping grease in there, a regular grease gun isn't going to fit!
Asks Gabby of all those smart people in the forum. Lets hear how you are taking care of your machine and all the other reasons and shortcuts ETC,ETC.
At least one inquiring mind wants to know. And is there a better location for questions like this??

I have used white lithium grease that comes in a spray can with a plastic tube nozzle.

I asked that question when I first got my new EX21. Some people responded by saying that oiling and greasing was not necessary. So I grease it regularly any how. My father, a man who worked all his life on tractors and heavy equipment, always said, "The life of a machine depends on how often and well you grease and maintain it". So I follow his words. ;D ;D

I lube my Hegner's moving parts every 1,5 month or so.
Use what we call "sewing machine oil" or " Bicycle oil"
a thin and transparent oil
manual says lube every 10 hours of use.....

I had the same experience as Clyde reports. I had several responses, including the owner's manual, which said maintenance and lubing is not required because the manufacturers use sealed, prelubed bearings. However, I recently saw a video that totally debunk that claim. The individual in the video is a scroller, and a part time scroll saw repairer. He uses a DW788 in the video because that's what he has, but he states that the procedure he demos in the video is applicable to most brands. The video runs about 1 1/2 hrs and is worth watching. He shows detailed disassembly, including the replacement of bearings, sourcing (inexpensive) bearings, lubing the bearings, and his preferred lube.

I'm glad I started this thread, it is good information.
Now why didn't I think of reading the manual, Duh!
Still don't know how to pump grease into those bushings.
I think I need one of those little grease guns used to lube the sprocket on a chainsaw bar.
