Title: My first pics
Post by: mcartist on August 25, 2013, 10:50:24 pm
Here are a couple pieces I have done recently. I combine scroll saw and carving. I left my delta in Mt. but picked up a scary looking little saw at a yard sale for $5. The little thing actually ruins very smooth just the blade opening is about the size od a half dollar. A piece of plywood takes care of that though.

Very nice work, what a great skill to combine cutting and carving. I had wanted to learn to carve and do that but I kind of fail at it. This is good and dont worry about the double posting, it takes some work to get that down. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I have been fortunate in the arts. Started as a sculpture then changed to or added painting. One day I was working on a museum sculpture/painting and was approached to carve a 4' ascension figure for the Catholic church so after that the carving became a tool.

Most of my carving is done on basswood. I have used tupelo and love it just a lot harder to get. I have a great sources for basswood.

They are amazing.  You are obviously equally  talented  with  large and small items.  I take my hate off to you sir.
