Title: Hello from a newby in Az
Post by: mcartist on August 25, 2013, 09:13:17 pm
Hi everyone. My name is Jeff Nobles. My The wife and I relocated to Az. from Montana about 11 months ago now. I was a cabinet maker till the economy went in the toilet but clawing my way back. I also have been an artist for over 35 yrs. I started researching and building very custom frames for my art about 20 years ago. I use a scroll saw to cut out minute figures for ornaments then go at them with an x-acto, chisels, skews, files and sand paper.  After the originals are completed I put them in rubber so they can be reproduced. Anyway that's a little of my background. I look forward to learning and sharing with the group.    Jeff

Hello Jeff. Ray from central Ohio.

I like custom frame making but I have not tried the tiny figures (I've done some Intarsia add-ons for frames and boxes). The rubber mold idea sounds interesting. Maybe you could post something on that process?

Just got in from work and wanted to return the Hello's and thank everyone for the nice welcomes. I know I need to do some computer time, getting ready to cut out and carve some pre 1920 motors. I'm scaling them down in photoshop. Not sure the energy is there. First day back. Thanks again for the warm welcomes
