Another attempt at the jewelery box having done 5 previous projects. Washboard and plywood ( Since thats all I have left at this moment and even then 1 more project and I'll have to save up for some wood ). The washboard doesnt work so well because the drawer thickness is so thin Im afraid the wrong move will break them. This is a Steve Goode Pattern. This is all hand Sanded and for the front part I cut the pieces out big marked where they would evenly meet the front and then hand sanded them to shape ( didnt work out perfectly but better then my last one )

Very nicely done. Might want to look at pallets from the stores. A lot of them get thrown away and a lot of them have decent wood and are kiln dried, just have to watch for staples and nails when cutting.

Can you see the progress you have already made? I can! Nice job with that.
Steve's got a pattern or two - toy cars or trucks I think - that are made from 2x4's. Those are pretty inexpensive. A number of folks check in at cabinet shops and the like and ask about getting scrap from them. I know some people who build staircases and they have given me a few pieces leftover of wood. Scraps from places like that can be plenty big enough for scroll saw projects. Even Lowe's or whatever might have some end cuts. Can't hurt to ask. If they say no, you're no worse off.

I've asked lowes gave them my number and never got any answer back from them. I've asked for other reasons other areas for wood and thing is we have a place here that takes up all excess Metal wood plastic etc etc and have gotten a lot of places in contracts to where they are the only ones who get it and then they charge retail price for the scrap they get from the other places.

I've been asked that and I was sure it said Washboard cause it made me think of the laundry washing boards but it might have said whiteboard I'll check when I look at Lows again. What is whiteboard ?

Seems like any pine lumber that has not been pressure treated is called "Whitewood" at Lowes:

Nice box! I'm thinking alike with Ray, whiteboard is what I used to buy from home depot till they did away with it. It was easy to work with and most pieces had a nice grain pattern.

Okie dokie its whiteboard not washboard at least I got it right with the face it was a W Board. Love the grain patterns though when you have the area's thin like the drawers there is risk of it breaking.
