I am looking into getting some band saw blades so I can resaw. I bought my Craftsman band saw at Sears and the only blades for the 99-3/4" length they have is 1/4". I was wondering if anyone has bought from Magnate or if it has good products. Thanks for any feedback. Dustin, I have a 10 inch craftsman that I hardly ever used because of the poor blades that came with it and at Sears--Found blades for it at Laguna Tools and what a difference they made and the amazing thing is that they didn't cost any more than the Crapsman blades--Just check them out at Laguna tools.com--JMHO---Richard

Blade quality is very important. I usually buy Carter brand blades. If you don't have a woodcraft nearby you can buy them direct online or from Woodcraft online. There are several good brands, but don't buy a cheap blade.

Check some of your hardware/tool stores in the local area - I just bought one that was made in the shop - custom length cut at 99 3/4", 1/2" blade, 3 TPI - less than $20.00.
Shop around.

I was looking at Laguna and saw they were about twice as much, but I understand just like scroll saw blades to get the better quality ones. I will look at woodcraft and Laguna. Thanks for the feedback.

I buy my "Timber wolf" band saw blades from http://www.suffolkmachinery.com/ They are excellent people to deal with. Best blades I've ever used.

I buy the Wood Slicer blades from Highland Woodworking http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/bandsaw-blades-accessories.aspx (http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/bandsaw-blades-accessories.aspx) for resawing. They also sell general purpose blades in all sizes. Haven't used the general purpose blades but if the Wood Slicer blades are any indication they should be very good blades and the prices are reasonable.
