Here is the latest and greatest video. Thanks Ray (EIEIO) for the permission to use your idea and pattern for this. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3ZGL5KEyLU&feature=c4-overview&list=UULAxz24dFceU8bIyUf_SQDw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3ZGL5KEyLU&feature=c4-overview&list=UULAxz24dFceU8bIyUf_SQDw)

Great idea, they turned out very nice!! Looks like they'll be real handy.

Nicely done Dustin.. Try this though .. replace the bolt with a dowel and make the whole thing wooden. IMHO it looks better that way. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Dustin - they look perfect. Well done. They also make a great pickle-picker for whatever is in a jar or home preserved.
-
Not bad at all. Sort of agree with DW - and use a contrasting wood. Nice job.

I'm not sure how a dowel would work, but you might use one of the wooden toy car axles. The nut and bolt let you tighten them to your taste.

Great job and practical to. :)

great job there Dustin, Although you could take EIEIO's idea a step further and cut your own thread into the wooden car axle and then make a wooden nut to go on end. I've had sucess in the past making nuts and bolts that size using standard metal cutting tap and die sets, they work fine on hardwoods.
