Title: Belt sanders?
Post by: tvman44 on June 25, 2013, 10:40:23 am
Talking about belt sanders, you guys that have one "do you leave the tension on the belt sander when not using or do you do like me and release tension and then have to set up again every time you want to use it?"  Some times I think I may be wasting a lot of time, tensioning and releasing. :)

Mine was under tension when I bought it four years ago. I've used it twice since then and when I put on the shelf two years ago it was still under tension then.
Do you think that maybe I don't have much use for belt sanders?

I have a hand held 3X21 and a stationery 6X48 and I leave the tension on constantly.

I have two belt sanders and I leave the tension on both of them and it has never been a problem.

Mine stays tensioned...get good quality belts and leave it set up!
