Title: I'm outta here!!!
Post by: GrayBeard on June 20, 2013, 09:16:18 pm: Time to hit the sack and get ready to roll.....

5:30 a.m. tomorrow I will be off with S.O. to the Rockies to visit my daughter and family and then to spend 6 days with the S.O.'s kids & grandkids in Estes Park.

We are driving and first stop is Hays, KS tomorrow night. Of course predicted temp is 99? so we will get out of the car & head for the pool/lounge upon arrival.
Next stop is my daughter's house in Littleton, CO. Spend the night there and then off to Estes Park just outside Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park.

6 glorious days walking and gazing at the wonderful "Rockies".
I really need this!

Will report in as I am able and will even include a photo or 2!!!

Post by: Kepy on June 21, 2013, 09:36:35 am: Hey GB, I went to college in Hays, KS. Also, while in Estes Park be sure to visit the Stanley House hotel. It was the setting for Steven King's book "The Shining". Stayed there once and it was interesting.

I'm in Hutchinson Ks. just a bit (50 miles) south of Salina when you are doing the "sleepy leg" of I 70.
The boredom is unbelievable in this area. ;)

92? and wind so strong almost could not open the car door without turning the car around!

nice nap and then cocktails & dinner.
