I have been having problems with keeping blades clamped on my ex 21--Then out of the blue I remember from somewhere that the knob inserts a supposed to turn--I checked mine and I had to use a pair of pliers to turn mine--A little Vasoline on the rubber o ring and they are working like new--I don't know if Ray at Seyco recommends this but it works for me--Richard

Hey Thumbs. Good call on checking that. It is called an anvil. It is not recommend to use a petroleum products on O rings though. Vasoline is petroleum based. Petroleum based products will degrade O rings. It's actually best to just clean the O ring. The best lubricant for O rings is silicone. But if you use it you risk the chance of contaminating the anvil and your wood. So just keep it clean.
