His nose and mustache and her dress. I want the guy to look very snobby and the dress to have proper folds. I've been working on this one for a few days...almost got it right but not quite.

Maybe a little thin mustache that is two more straight lines? Like / \ but much flatter - almost horizontal. The frown around the pins is great!
I don't know how to do draping cloth but maybe google some images of evening gowns and look for someone standing in a similar position.

Truthfully I would think that his hair should be 'slicked' back almost like an evil "Simon Legree"!
Just my un-artistic 2 cents!

Great ideas. The mustache using just two straight lines in actually perfect. The slick back hair...I like that better then what I have now. I'm not sure how to draw/cut it. Have to do some searching on that. The gown is a problem. First...I think maybe she looks too thin and making shadows to give the folds in the dress I'm having problems with as well. Sometimes when I draw it out on paper and I think it looks good, then cut it out in wood the effect just doesn't come out right. I will both using your ideas though. They really fit the picture.

If you haven't seen it before, this site has a lot on drawing folds in clothing.

A lot of it requires shading 9(which we don't have much of in scrolling), but some is done with simple line drawings. Most of those seem to depend on folds that show the under and over side of the cloth, so it might mean changing the dress some to expose an edge (and some leg). Just a thought.
