This is a portrait of my daughter Nicole. As you all know, Nicole died suddenly a few months back at the age of 33. I asked my good Friend Bob (tripleB) to make the pattern for me as I am not a pattern maker. I think he did a great job of it.
I stack cut 4 layers of 1/8" Baltic birch. The backer board is 1/8" BB painted flat black. The frame was made from a recycled Cherry raised panel door frame. Finished in a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. Top coated with Deft semi gloss spray lacquer.
This one was given to My Mother today for Mother's day. One is for Nicole's mother, one is for her 12 year old daughter and the last one is for me.

That would have been a very hard one to cut Dan but I'm glad you did, it looks lovely. She was a very pretty girl.

A great tribute to a beautiful young lady, it must have been so hard to cut, but you done a good job of cutting it and each one will be a treasured keepsake.

Great Picture Dan !! I know how you must have felt cutting it, my oldest daughter passed away Feb. 3, 2013, about the same time as yours did. That's not supposed to happen.
I've thought about making something for my Grandkids to remember her by, but haven't worked up the courage yet.

Yes, it was tough Al, but the fact that her daughter had a Birthday coming up and of course Mothers Day, prompted me to get it done.
Thanks everyone for you kind comments.

Beautiful Daughter Dan and a good job well done.
I've discovered we always miss those closest to our hearts,
and the rest don't seem to matter.
The pain fades a little over time but the sense of loss remains.
