Title: Hello from Hawaii

Hello Everyone, My name is Hawaiilad (Larry) and I live on the Big Island in Hawaii.  I have been a woodworker most of my life on and off I guess, and for the past 20 years the wife and I have worked full time building, scrolling and she does the painting.  Most of all I love to Scroll...any type will do,  I have a shop full of tools (sometimes I pull my hair out hunting for the right one to use), but of course I could use more of them.  ;) 

Thanks Steve for starting this forum.  I know we will all enjoy it.

Aloha, I guess that is how you spell that.  Welcome to the forum.  I cannot wait to see some of your work.  I am still considered a newbie I guess since I have only been at it for the past 6 years.

Hello Russ and Cherie...and yes Cherie, you spelled Aloha correct,
I was very happy to see Steve included this Forum on his blog.  I know I will get allot of use from it.  I love to see what other woodworkers are doing around the World.

Yes you both should visit our lovely State...after all, I have been to your States  ;D  We moved here from Washington State about 6 years ago and wish we would have moved long before that.  We love the weather.  Not allot of woodworkers here, and wood sometimes needs to be ordered on the net, but we still love it here.

Been to Oahu and Maui, loved them both to visit...
don't think I could handle the constant climate...I like 'seasons'!!!
Right now though I am kinda tired of cold and snow...

Howdy Larry from the Deep South.  Alabama.  You have arrived at the bestest Forum there is.  Bunches of friendly, happy people from all over the world.  I was a Navy brat and Dad got stationed on Oahu in 1957.  Of course the Local people didn't care much for us Haloes.  Left the islands for the Navy in 1963.  Haven't been back since.  Cry,cry.  Anyway Welcom

Hi Larry.  I've been to Kauai twice and thought it was the only place I've been that was even better than where I live in Florida.  We really enjoyed the scuba and motorcycling through Wiamea.  I even have a 4X4X24 piece of Koa sitting in my garage waiting to turn into a bandsaw box someday.  Mahalo!
