Title: Piggy Bank
Post by: DWSudekum on April 16, 2013, 05:27:35 pm
Cut from a 24" long x 10" wide x 3/4" thick pine board I got from Lowes.  There are 5 layers and the plug is a 1 1/2" diameter dowel rod with a 1/8" dowel rod to hold it in.  The clear panels were cut from 8"x 10"x 1/8" acrylic.  The bank was finished with tung oil and then top coated with semi gloss lacquer.  This bank is one of a half a dozen I will be making for my upcoming shows.

Nice job.
I may make some of those for the grandkids for Christmas.
I just have a few questions.
Why did you put a plug in the bottom when the sides are just screwed on?
How do you remove the plug when it has cross dowels on the inside?
If you turn it upside down to remove the plug to the inside, how do you replace it?
