Title: Other projects
Post by: Gadois on April 13, 2013, 06:11:03 pm
I had a request from a forum member who posted on my German House posting to see more of my projects so here are some of them.  (1) A chuck wagon with cooking utensils. (2) A farm tip-cart which was used mostly to haul stable muckings. (3) A 1929 Ford Stake-Bed truck. All of these were scratch-built from plans. The chuck wagon and tip-cart are 1/8th scale and the truck is 1/10th scale.

I hope you enjoy them.

Cheers,
Gadois

I had accidentally set my Photobucket albums to private which meant one could see only the thumbnail photo. The albums are now public so all photos in an album are visible and can be scrolled through using the left and right arrows on the photos.

Cheers,
Gadois

Amazing work Gadois.  They are all great, but that truck looks like you could jump in and drive off.  Thanks for sharing.

Amazing work! Would 1/10 make the truck about 18" long? And how did you make those wheels? Especially the centres?

Martin - thank you for the complements - the truck is exactly 18" in length. The wheels were fabricated thusly; rims of aluminium tubing, brake drums of aluminium bar stock, wheel centres spun from aluminium and spokes cut out with scroll saw, hub centre of aluminium bar stock, lug nuts of .080 brass hex bolts. The wheel components were soldered together and the hex bolts retained with brass nuts. The tyres were cast in urethane using a wood master turned on a lathe.

Cheers,
Gadois

Thanks for the info, Gadois, I never tire of seeing quality model making. I wish I had the patience.
