Title: Ancient German house
Post by: Gadois on April 05, 2013, 07:54:23 pm
Finally finished the house. Took longer than I had anticipated but was very much fun to build. I don't know if the plans were for an existing house or they were a collection of architectural cliches. Quite a bit of scrollsawing even though it may not be readily apparent.

Now I'm looking for another project. Any suggestions?

Cheers, Gadois

Great looking house.  Thanks for sharing with us.

What, are you crazy?   ;)

That's what I ask everyone who can spend that much time and effort into a project like that.   Absolutely amazing, well done.  Now what are you going to do with it?  Is it to be a table centerpiece, or for sale, or doll house for the kids?

Next project?  I have seen some classics ships that had some incredible detail on them if you're still in that mode.  I would suggest a vacation.

Thank you all for your very generous comments!

To answer some of the questions; I have roughly 4 months of time working only sporadically. I have no work-in-progress photos because I wasn't sure how I was going to construct this house, so the photos would not have shown any realistic methods of construction. In other words, I just stumbled through! I have no plans for what to do with the house. It will probably just be a dust collector. I doubt anyone would buy it so I have not thought about selling it.

Concerning future projects and suggestions from forum members; I am retired so I'm already on vacation. I have a scale model of the HMS Victory project which I will never finish. The hull, masts, spars and decks are finished which leaves the rigging (which is the most onerous task I can think of) to complete. I'll give it to anyone who would finish it.

I have other completed projects (scale model horse-drawn vehicles, old trucks, etc.) which have some scrollsaw utilization although probably no enough to be of interest to all of you. If you would like to see them, let me know.

Thanks again for your kindness.

Cheers, Gadois

I for one, would be interested in seeing those other projects you mentioned.  I like horse anything and am very curious about the old trucks.  Thanks.

"Absolutely awesome" seems to be the description that fits the best!

Congratulations on the completion of an excellent project.
As for your next project, there is a new member on this forum named Pedro
who started the www.finescrollsaw.com web-site.
Perhaps you can find something there to your liking.
Other than that, there are lots of great patterns available from Steve Good's
site and other scrollsaw forums if you don't get too bored doing more simple
projects.
Thanks for sharing your work.
God Bless! Spirithorse
