Title: shocked
Post by: king310 on March 25, 2013, 09:47:29 pm
I was shocked and at the same time ashamed about an issue that I observed. While I was watching a news show the guest on the show claimed that for being a conservative she has been subjected to hate that goes beyond free speech. She made the statement  "GOOGLE my name and you will see what hate that they preach about me" So I did and she was right this was the part where I felt embarrassed to be American.
It is healthy to have different views about our political system but to use such words is just wrong.
Americans can stand for their ideas without using such words. We can debate those issues of difference. But if  you can not debate your cause without the filth and names that have no place in the debate then you have no issue to begin with.

Unfortunately King it is in ALL societies that this happens and to ALL good people. It should should not matter what you are acting in, singing about, believing in, who you are dating, what your color is or your religion, people should not have to injure such filth written and spoken about them.  THEY are the ones that should be embarrassed when they write or speak such vile things.   :'( :'(

King, I believe we've lost the spirit and intent of the first amendment.  I believe "free speech" is the given right to have and express an opinion, not be as rude, vulgar and offensive as you feel like.  I don't believe that was the intent of our founding fathers.  Plus, I also believe that someone who can't express themselves without the foul language displays ignorance and a lack of self control.

My humble opinion, which the first amendment entitles me to!  ;)

I agree that the right to free speech has been very much abused.  I used to teach that just because you have the right, it doesn't give you the right to abuse someone else.

We never use words that were not true and I as person with such innocence would never defame a scotchman even a little. You never know what may fly up his kilt and send him into panic. ;D
