This is a pattern by Kathy Lindsey that was done for a coworker. My coworker is a big gorilla fan and I can tell you there are not many gorilla patterns out there. This was made form some Alder wood I had left for a door I am making. The alder stained the best on several samples I tried to get the right look before I even started. I added the mesquite base myself and improvised on the leaves to. Leaves are made of Purple heart, Padauk, and something else I can?t remember. This was a really fun project to do and learn from. I loved putting the texture on the piece. Thanks for looking and enjoy.

I think it really looks good; you did a very nice job putting the texture on the piece and I'll bet your coworker will love it.

Great Job,But I wonder if,you cound not imporve it even more by flattening the finish on the gorilla ,only! IMHO Just a thought not a critisim!!

She will love it. Very well done.

Excellent work there, but where did you get the picture of me to make the pattern???

Really like the texture in the "fur" how did you do it?
I also like the veins in the leaves, and the bit of hair atop his head is awesome.
A dot of white on each eye will bring him to life.
Good Job.
