This is my first attempt at completing a portrait from start to finish. From using a picture, to modifying it in Gimp, to actually being cut in wood. This was a MOST satisfying project. It is 16x20 and done using Baltic Birch. It is of my youngest son. As he has no communication skills, I tried to capture a moment of him in thought. My wife and I believe that this was achieved. Many thanks to DonR and Mahendra for sharing their skills with me so that I could accomplish this project. Hopefully there will be more to come.

Nice treatment on the hair - that always seems like a trick to get right.

It really turned out great, beautiful job!!

Very nice job on the cutting and the pattern. It's tough to decide, when making a pattern, how much to leave, and how much to erase. You got it right! Thanks for sharing it.
