Title: newbie :)
Post by: scrollnovice on February 20, 2013, 01:17:07 pm
Hello all from Lexington, KY. I'm new to scrolling (ya know I was reading all the new users here and it reminds me of a addiction group or something LOL :) )
Anyway I'm retired and decided i needed something else to do between Photography and taking care of grand kids (as if that was not enuff to due )
I purchased a entry level scroll saw and hopefully when i get my little corner of the garage setup and a lot warmer then it currently is, I'll start learning this new hobby. This seems like it will be a relaxing hobby in that you have to pay attention to details and what not. I used to reload ammo and the processes are similar in that you have to be aware of off the little things that make up the whole.

So anyway I'm sure i will be asking questions as I go along. I'm currently reading the user groups a lot and see all the other questions as newbies. I also picked up a used book on scroll saws etc.
Now i just need to get cutting and see what emerges.

Hi Ed and welcome to  the forum.  I'm Julie from Texas.  Glad to have you.  You are right, this is an addiction group.  The lucky thing, is that I have yet to see a down side to this addiction!

Welcome Ed. I am new also from South Carolina. I have found this to be a great group of dedicated scrollers. If we stick with it, this is going to be one of the best things we have done in our life. Get that corner fixed and lets get started.

Welcome to the forum.  Take time to try the various uses for a scroll saw.  Many only do fretwork but there is also Inlay, Intarsia, and compound cutting.
