Something a little different for your viewing ,This model Bridge is 6'6" long contains over 800 LF ,of Oak strips ,Carved fir foundations ,plexiglass and FRP roofing ,and gables ,one of three large bridges I built for town festivals and the museum .All on display at city buildings ,One of the Cities own real Covered Bridge ,one of the antique steel ,in the city ,and this Northern style covered bridge,all are same basic length ,The pictures are a work in progress ,bridge itself is natural finish ,carvings

Construstion took about two weeks ,design scaleing and jig building took longer ,I .was going to post as work in process ,but trying to post in order and detail has been very time consuming and to this point not sucessful ,I make too many mistakes on the computor.

Well it took a while ,But I think I finially resolved the Posting of pictures problems ,That was a job,TOO soon old too late smart!

Just a side note,The reason for the OPEN lattice ,up north was in the winter,
when these were built ,horse drawn slieghs and work sleds were the winter vehichle ,and if sides were closed they had to shovel snow into them to use ,but open lattice , snow was automatically blown in ,so they were useable with out any attention ,The boys back the were pretty smart !!
