Hi Guys
Using the suggestions to here, I went to a machinist friend (ya, they can sure be handy! ;D ) and brought him the stock rear table bracket and he made me this one. I installed it and tweaked the table until the blade was very close to 90 degrees front to back, and it really made a difference. Now it doesn't self feed, but instead lets me feed, and the cornering is a lot better.
Thanks to all for the suggestions and pictures. I will be playing all weekend now! :o

Wouldn't let me post all 3 pics on the original post...

Very cool! You need to paint it DeWalt yellow. Then nobody will ever notice it.
See if he is willing to make more for sale.
-
You beat me to it DG, was going to suggest he made loads more for woodmangler to sell, especially if the problem is widespread on the saws.
-
I also would be interested in buying one of these.
-
please 'splain to me just what it does? I'm lost and confused.

The blade was not 90 degrees front to back. The stock rear table bracket is not adjustable, so you cannot adjust the table angle front to back. The new bracket allowed me to adjust the table angle so that the saw blade to table angle is now very close to 90 degrees.

It sure seems like that Dewalt 788 is haveing a lot of trouble, one thing after another. My Delta 40-690 has had nothing go wrong with it yet except broken blade once in a while. To those of you that don't know it the 788 is the same thing as the 40-690.

I don't have a problem with mine but I like the idea of having an opportunity for an adjustment if I need it sometime in the future.

I think dewalt should update the scroll saw so that table bracket can be adjustment and give free replacments to the people that all ready got the saw.

Cyberghost you are right. I took my saw to a nearby Dewalt repair center a week after it was deliverd and was told thats the way they all are nothing they can do.
