As I was working on the B-17 request a few days ago, I thought it would be fun to make a few cuttings from WW 2 aircraft nose art. Here are my first attempts at nose art. It seemed like it took longer to make the patterns than make the cuttings. I am not really happy with the way they turned out but I will continue and attempt a few more. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Nice looking work there Don. I would suggest putting something with the Belle to show what she was painted on - type of aircraft, theater of operations, why famous, etc. Most of today's youth have no idea what you are portraying with the Lady, unless they look it up (on their cell phone) or have seen the movie.
The cuts appear well done, the colors seem "dark" to me, maybe it is the lighting.
Good work, great idea, just a couple of random thoughts over a morning cup of coffee.

beautiful work Don, as Al said the colours seem a little dark, but that could be the lighting or the picture. love them both.

Thank you for all of the comments. Now I am encouraged to do more. The colors are a little off due to the lighting. The cuttings are BB with a Golden Oak stain.

Here is my third attempt. 11 X 17 1/4 inch BB. Photo is a bit dark because of poor lighting.
