Anyone know what happened here? I stripped the old paint and stained it red mahagony. Applied a coat of spray poly yesterday morning, let dry till this afternoon and applied a second coat and as soon as the poly hit the wood this happened. It's the only spot on the whole dresser that did it. Do I just sand and reapply the poly or is something wrong? Any help is appreciated!

it would appear that you did not get all of the stripper off.

The first coat went on fine tho. I'll just let it dry till tomorrow and sand it and reapply. Thanks for your reply

just make sure to wipe it down well with thinner....mineral spirts

Might have not gotten that spot cleaned well, I have painted wood before and have it do this or bubble off because it had a residual oil or something on it. You should be able to do just that spot, but I would do that whole side or panel so it matches and not just the spots that are bad.
