Title: My first scroll projects
Post by: dirtrider73068 on December 18, 2012, 08:05:10 pm
Well these are a couple of my first attempts at some projects and fret work. I used some Luan since it was cheap and to practice with to get the hang of it then will get some better wood and start bigger better work. Name plaque is my Mother In Law she loves roosters, then I made 3 Christmas ornaments, the bass is my dads, I added the lure to add some feature to it also it does have veining that was my very first scroll. The rooster of course is my MIL, the cross will be my moms. I am happy they turned out pretty good. Wouldn't think the small one would take so long the took at least 2 hours I was surprised.

Congratulations! You will soon find out how much easier it is to cut when you stack cut.
You will have better control of the project and it actually cuts faster. Try it, you will like it!

Very Nice!  I really love the cross.  One of my favorite things to cut.

I have a bigger cross I am cutting out right now for my woman. Going to make it a Christmas present to her, she saw it in a pattern book I checked out from the library and said she loved it, so took that hint to make her a Christmas present out of it. When I get it done will take a picture of it.

Very nice. Your first practice pieces looks a ton better than my first practice piece. You will be making some fantastic work in no time at all. I know some have suggested stack cutting, I did my first stack cut this past week. It is nice being able to make many copies at once, but I still think making single copies of many things is good too. Keep on posting.

lol yea I have learned over the past experiences of my mistakes to take hints and remember them and use them when needed.
