Title: Cutting a 3D Rose Pedal
Post by: ToverT on December 14, 2012, 10:58:54 am
I'm trying to make the 3D box from Steve Good's site on the pattern page.  I can't for the life of me figure out how to cut the rose pedals to get the curve for the 3D effect.  The pedal appears to be 1/4" thick.  Here is a link to the pattern page......3D Box.

Oh wise ones, please help this Newbie!  I'll go back to my padded cell now!

Tommy I take it you never tried 3d/compound cutting before.
I took a look at the pattern and at a guess the petel is aprox: 1x1 square.
You cut the wood that size and and fold the pattern around the wood and cut from both sides, (clear as mud).

To help with the cutting a jig at..........

To watch a French video of compound cutting go....

It's French but you get the idea...

Hope that helps a bit.
