Just curious how everyone is finishing the bell ornaments from Steve. I'm wanting to paint mine, but I'd rather wash the windows in the Empire State building than paint! Looking for some ideas.

It depends on what kind of wood you used. If you used a hardwood such as Mahogany, Walnut, Cherry or even oak, An oil finish such as Danish oil or the 50/50 mix of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits would be my recommendation followed by a topcoat of spray lacquer. If you used Baltic birch plywood or pine, Either paint or just a topcoat. I'm with you, I hate to paint, so I always use hardwoods.

Just thought guys, has anyone tried dipping ornaments in the paint (like we do with the oil) and letting it drip dry.
Just thinking/typing out loud here, I could be well out of order. ;D ???

Thanks for the input DG! Merlin, that was one idea I had. A water based paint thinned with water just to give it a haze of paint. I don't think it would look good with vibrant colors. Like maybe whitewash the whole thing and then thinned green and red for the holly.
