It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I write this, but I wanted the family here to know. On Sunday afternoon I lost my buddy, my best friend and my little brother, only 56 years old. He was the one so many of you prayed for in June when he underwent his heart surgery. The surgery was fine he was making a complete recovery, back to work and getting stronger every day. even putting on a little weight again, he was down to 150 lbs and wanted to get up to 170. He was with me sunday morning in my shed, we live next to each other, he was looking at my latest project which was a retirement piece for his wife who is retiring the end on this month. He said he couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she gets it. Well I guess that will not happen now. He had a massive heart attack, the doctor said there was nothing that would have saved him, not even a team of doctors standing by his side would have helped. We are devastated. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts. I will post again later as time allows. Clyde

Clyde I can share your pain, I recently lost my oldest brother to the same thing, we were close and I miss him too.

It is Friday, it has been a very difficult week. We laid Les to rest yesterday during a wind and rain storm, he was always dramatic. Our church is a 120 years old wooden structure and it was creaking and groaning at it's best yesterday afternoon. I am still asking for your thoughts and prayers to get us through the next while. Thank you for all you have done. I mentioned to his wife that prayers were going up for Les from all over the earth. She took comfort for that.
Still sad in Newfoundland, but now inspired to cut some very special pieces for my family for Christmas.

Thanks Judy, It is so tough. We lived next door to each other, it was always Les and I as far back as I can remember. Many times I would go to the shed after supper get the fire going, he would see the lights on and come over, we would have a chat, he would go home and I would let the fire go out and then go to the house. Many times he would show up with a couple of beers in his pocket, some times I had the beers. It is going to be hard going to the shed knowing he will not be showing up. Les was born a blue baby and had little chance of surviving but he did because Mom wouldn't give up on him. . I always tried to make his life easier any way I could. Any how I am blubbering on at this point. I am glad I checked in before I want to bed. It helps telling and relating to others. Good night.

Russ said it very well Clyde, I share your grief I just recently lost my friend and big brother the same way.

I just read the rest of the posts, and agree with Roy, go to the shed and remember him and the good times you had. If you didn 't choke up I would feel sorry for you, it means you loved him, I'm teary eyed as I type this, it brings my brother to mind as well.
