Title: Fretwork Tote
Post by: bzeyher on October 05, 2012, 06:34:06 pm
I finished the tote after the pattern by Steve Good in Baltic Birch plywood. This is my first basket type project using box joints. I made the joints larger than the pattern called for and then sanded it flush. This worked out surprisingly well. I used plywood since I was afraid that I would mess it up the first time. Now that I know what to expect I will do the next in a nice hardwood.

I appreciate any criticism since I like to improve :-)

No criticism from me, looks good. Think it would be nice on a table for napkins and salt and pepper shaker. Or on a desk. Think it looks good enough to buy. The real test though, is post it on Facebook for all your non scrolling friends to see. See how many of them say they want one. That was my mistake with some of my first projects I made. Then I had to make and give them to some good friends and family members. Well thanks for sharing.
