Hey Michelle, Either of the DeWALT planer models are what I would recommend. I have an older model DW733 and love it. It has been replaced with the DW734 which is the same unit except it has three cutting blades instead of two and it has two speeds. The 735 is a lot more expensive, but is highly rated. Either will serve you well!

Yea I don't think you can go wrong with the dewalt. Me And my father both use the three blade. They are good dependable machines!

If you can afford it I would also recommend the Dewalt. ;)

I have a DW734 and love it! They are pricey but, you won't regret it. That has to be the best bench top (lunch box) planer on the market.

Check craigslist in your area. There are often planers for sale. When I was looking I got lucky and found a barely used powermattic 15" helical head for a little more than a lunchbox planer at the big box stores. I know most don't need it, but there is a world of difference between a lunchbox planer and a floor standing one.
