Title: Name Plate Question
Post by: don in brooklin on on September 16, 2012, 09:42:09 am
I usually make name plates for the Grandkids teachers for Christmas gift.  (Big hit)

This year one of the teachers is a double barrelled name ie Smith-Jones.

Would you think a space would be okay or is there some other way around the dash?

Thanks

Don

Hey Don, I just tried a dash between two names using Steve's new stencil printer program and it worked out great! Using the kerning feature brings the letters together so they all touch. I used the cooper black font and it worked out great!
If you don't have it, it is a free download on Steve's blog.

Thanks

Never thought about the new stencil program as I use the old one all the time.

Great idea.  I am going to do in Inkscape as then I can kern just to make it touch the letters.

I'll use the Scrollsaw font so that it matches the others that I have made.

Thanks again as I would never have thought of that.
