Just finished this Hummingbird.
Used nine different woods, Wenge, Maple, Blood wood, Walnut, Aspen,Poplar, Purple Heart, Bubinga and Red Cedar.
It?s finished with five coats of Deft Semi Gloss Lacquer and I inlayed a penny on the back for dating the year made.
The pattern is by Judy Gale Roberts, and it is 16" in diameter.

Thanks to Al for his support.

Fantastic Job!!!! Your Hummer came out perfect.
What more can you say: Cutting, shaping, choice of woods and finish are all first class.
Are you sure this is one of your first ones???
Looking forward to seeing your next one.

As a brand new scroller, I am in absolute awe of this... I can't believe it's made of wood. Stunning is an understatement, I adore it.
Have you done any marine pieces? I also keep reef tanks and can imagine this style for corals & fish would be gorgeous.
