Anybody have any experience with this type of wood? I have a chance at a local sawmill to get some at $2.70 BF, kiln dryed. I like the price compared to other hardwoods. Thanks as always.

Hey Dan, Silver Maple is a nice wood to work with. It is one of the "soft" maples when you hear "soft maple" and "hard Maple", but is a hard wood. As with any wood, you want to pick through the stack to choose the best boards as It can vary from white to light brown.
