I wanted to post this simple cutting, not for the picture, but the story behind it.
My daughter and her husband were good friends with a family that used to go to their church, before moving to Oklahoma. The family came back to CA. for a visit a few months ago and during their return trip home stopped at a roadside rest area in Arizona. While the husband was using the restroom he had a heart attack and passed away.
His wife came back to CA. to take care of some business and saw my daughter in church last Sunday. She pointed out the Dove, on the wall, and mentioned how much her husband always admired it and she?d like to have something like it to remind her of him.
She?ll be taking it back to Oklahoma with her.

That's a touching story Al. I assume you cut the dove? It sure would look lovely if you made an Intarsia of it to send to Oklahoma.

Like Dan said, Al--Great story and cutting-any chance of telling us where you got the pattern--I really like doves also--Richard

I should have mentioned, I made the Dove by blowing up the picture my Daughter took of the one hanging on the wall of the church.
I used Oak and it measures 24" at the widest part, per her request.
Richard, you can get pictures of similar doves by typing "Images for Christian Doves" in Google.

I have received numerous ?Thank You? notes, from people I?ve made Intarsias for over the years, but none begin to compare to the one I received yesterday re. This Christian Dove I posted recently. I could tell such a simple thing that only took me a couple hours to make meant more to her than if I had spent months working on it.
Nothing could give me more joy or satisfaction than knowing that some small thing, I was able to contribute, was so deeply appreciated.
