I had been ill but back now but it seems everything I used to know about my Delta SS350 has disappeared. I am so hopeful that there other members who may have this older saw that can assist me by chatting over my questions? 1. I reinstalled lower blade holder because it appeared either rusty or just corroded. To hold it in the bottom hole is a small rod that does that, I think. Now does that rod have anything that I am missing to make sure it stays in place AND does that blade holder move back and forth or should it be rigid? It seems to have too much movement to me but I also don't remember. 2. When outing in a blade how much below and above should that blade be? I am 77 this year but I was sure the brain was working ok, now I don't know. Diane

You may want to print this out along with saving it on your hard drive. I started a binder to hold all my shop tool manuals along with copying them to a dvd.... overkill I know but at least I have them ALL.

Hi Diane and welcome to the forum. I'm Julie from Texas. Glad you've joined us. I don't have any experience with that particular saw, but my old dremel had a lot of movement in the lower blade clamp so you could tilt it to get your blade fed through the wood. That may be the way your saw is designed.

Most wonderful from all of you! That Delta manual showed me exactly what that lower clamp holder works too and now I will begin tomorrow it making it work again. The heat has been very hard since my airconditioner is only in my living room (where the TV is) and a small one in the bedroom but luckily here in Ohio we will drop to 80's with 60's at night! My saw is in the basement so it is a few degrees less down there. PS: I want to post a few pics of my work in that department but haven't figured out how to upload a jpeg file there and where is the explanation as to what those little logos above here mean?
Another question: Steve Good said he would send me that jig for compound cutting a month ago and I have written to him but he doesn't reply? I am the person that he mentions in his video about that jig so I don't know if he's changed his mind or not? Any thoughts about this? Diane

Most of what I make is for family and they seem to like the permanence that a wooden item offers. Made some compound try's but not good enough. Well, back to work! Scrolling is just sooooo much fun!
