Title: help wanted
Post by: glenn wouters on April 25, 2012, 02:29:35 pm
Hi all.

A friend asked me if i could make a rice bird intarsia for him.
No problem, if i would have a pattern for it.

I have a few nice pictures of the birds, but i just don't know how to transform them into a pattern.
Does someone know how to convert a picture into a pattern?

Thanks.
Glenn, Belgium

Hi Glen, send me a picture of the bird you want to use for the Intarsia and I'll make you a pattern.

Sorry Marcellarius, this sounds auful cold, but, when someone asks me to make a pattern it belongs to them only and It?s up to them to decide if they want to share it. They may be making the Intarsia for someone who is paying for a "One of a Kind", so they don't wish it to be mass produced???

When I make an Intarsia for someone, who is paying me to do it, as far as I?m concerned the pattern, along with the intarsia, belongs to them and I won?t make another like it.

Work in progress pictures.

That would be ok with me.
But don't start a charity or send money if you guys see my tiny shop on the pictures. :D
It's a very small old, sort of barn, the only thing what's worth some money on it is my EX 21, and that's about it.
I let wifey resize some pics and show them to you.

Glenn,

My shop is a 10'X12' shed.  You won't here any snickering from me!  I'd take an old barn, or garage or bigger shed over what I have!  Looking forward to seeing your project!

Glen

I don't beat you by much Glen, mine is a 10' x 16' shed. but as long as you have power out to it and room for a scroll saw and chair, what more can you ask for. (except maybe a little heating )

My shop is only 10 by 10.
I used every inch to put tools wood and other stuff.
One good thing, i just have to turn around, stretch my arm and i can grab whatever i need.
I don't have to do one step, or just a small one to reach what i need.

I dream of a nice shop, big, heated full of cool tools... but that dreaming.
I'm happy with what i have.

@Al:
No problem, I totally can understand what you mean!
't wasn't the pattern I would like to have, but pictures to see.
and just like Glen said, WIP is fine with me.

@Glenn:
a 10x10 workshop, you only need one or two pictures to show it all, so can't wait to see your WIP  ;)

BTW I have a 10x15 workshop, isn't that much bigger, but  I know the feeling of dreaming of a 15x30 feet or more....
