Wee tiny mouse (would like a 3d)
« on: May 01, 2016, 11:16:08 pm »
I am trying working on a new project.     and I need a tiny tiny 3d mouse.   if any one can make one,  it would be so happy.  the biggest it can be is 1/2 inch. ( not counting tail)  and I can glue a tail of string or wire.

I would love to learn how to make a 3d pattern.  does any one know where I start?  or how does a non artist learn how to do one.

Thank you so much for any help.

First Lorace you need to think one side at a time.  Draw your mouse, on the computer would be best if possible.  You will be making 2 drawings  one drawing will be the side view in this case the mouse  will be facing broadside to you this drawing gives your mouse its identity.  The other drawing will be of the mouse looking straight at you and this gives your work depth.  I have made a very crude one .. you are free to try it or not.

Thanks for trying to help, DW but, I think you
are looking at the wrong angles for compound cutting.
If someone would try to cut your version, they would have to
cut the face forward portion from the end of the pattern.
I think the normal patterns of this sort would be a view from the side
and a view from the top and they have to be positioned properly so that
the mouse is centered on each side of the wood stock.

DW - that's a slick design. I like the cuts up from the bottom to outline the legs. I have a similar compound design for a bunny that works great so I'll be trying your mouse. Don't forget to add a bit of a tail - maybe glue on a short piece of bead chain so it kind of snakes out behind.
