Could anyone help with a photo to pattern
« on: April 07, 2015, 03:25:08 pm »
This is a picture of a good friend of mine at his wedding. Can anyone make a pattern for this so I could make it as a gift for him and his wife? Thanks.

Mahendra,  I don't see a picture with the request.  Maybe that's the problem.

This no-picture crap has put a big kink in the use of this forum. Is there any chance the problem will be fixed?

totally agree, there has been a definite slow down  in usage since it started
surely if the pictures were only on for say a week or so and then deleted it would keep server space free

I understand why it is necessary to reduce the space required for the site - to save server costs  - but I do miss all the images in the pattern section

Sometimes I would like to take my copy of a pattern that catches my eye, but it I have to go off-site to see even a thumbnail, I'm less likely to take a follow the link.  That's me, and I'm sure others follow every off-site link.

Perhaps a compromise could be made, something like reducing the maximum size of any posted image (perhaps even to thumbnail size) with the option to link to a larger off-site image.  Then if you are interested, you cold follow the link off-site.  Even that requires each poster to have set up an off-site location and some might be able to do that, for one reason or another.

As has been mentioned, I hope a solution can be found.

I totally agree with all of you guys. It's almost impossible to see if we can or even want to try to make a pattern due to
picture quality, etc.. e-mailing is also a bummer. We need the problem fixed.....Ron

I do not know how it works but I like to have my pictures in Photobucket and paste a link in my post at this site.  The picture shows in my post. Does it take up space on this forum?  If not that would be a good way to do it.  No only could you save space but could post a larger picture than the site allows.  You could use Photobucket, it is free or there are other photo storage sites that may work the same.  I only is Photobucket because that is what I started with and am the most familiar with it.

Paul - that's where we started when the problem 1st surfaced - Photobucket or Google+ as a temporary fix. But the inconvenience has made the forum less usable. I'd like to see usage statistics since this started - I know I'm down to probably 10% of my previous use. My understanding from Steve was that he had unlimited storage on the new site - so that shouldn't be the reason for losing images. It seems more like a bug in the forum software.
